From my experience, BEWARE OF STRIPE! THEY ARE EXTREMELY SHADY (in my opinion) AND JUST TOOK MONEY OUT OF OUR BANK ACCOUNT. They almost bankrupted our business. Our private keys were leaked somewhere, no fault of our own, and someone tried to do card testing using our keys. All of the payments were blocked due to our diligence, but stripe froze our account and started blocking all of our legitimate payments. No one at stripe would ever help us or give any information regarding how long it would take to get our account running again. We called every day and could never get any information other than a special team was working on it. They also decided to debit our account over $2,000 dollars and just took it out of our bank account. They were very unprofessional and just hung on up us on the phone, wouldn’t respond to emails, and caused our business to be at a standstill. They have acted extremely shady, and unprofessional, and we would never use them again under any circumstances. After two weeks of no response, we decided to use another payment processor.
  • Took money out of our bank account
  • hung up on us
  • acted very shady
  • customer service
  • acting professional
  • resolving issues
  • communication
I WOULD STAY FAR AWAY FROM STRIPE in my opinion!

Disappointed. Its been now 1 year that Stripe does not seem to be having interest to resolve my problem. On my very own website, my own card is being declined by Stripe. Upon using the same card via Paypal the transaction is successful. Upon individually verifying there is absolutely no problem with my issuing card or my bank. I have already verified that by speaking to them. It seems like Stripe just want to continue declining without giving a valid reason. My customer conversion rate has taken a massive hit due to this. Looking for good alternatives. Although my business grows and stripe gets more payments via me, they dont want to have tier based fees/charges. Whether you give stripe a revenue of 100$ or 10,000$ you are the same for Stripe. I am Customer from India and they have not kept the tier system for Indians. Thanks Stripe, very helpful !
  • good exchange rate
  • prompt customer service though without a resolution
  • willingness to resolve the customers issue
  • lower payout time to sellers
  • bad rates even though my business is scaling up

We use Stripe as our preferred credit card payment processing gateway for both national and international transactions. It very simple to use and set up. It is reliable and it integrates well with Xero, with our accounting system.
  • Process credit card payments
  • Integrates with Xero accounting software
  • Low transaction fees
  • Quick transfer of funds to bank accounts with email notification
  • Could improve the UI
Very well suited for small businesses that want to accept credit card payments without using a bank merchant account and paying monthly fees. Also, the transaction fees are low, the setup is quite easy, and it integrates with most online software and platforms.

We started using Stripe as our CC payment processor when we switched over to a new ERP system. Stripe is used for both manual and online orders. If we get customer financial information via phone, fax, or email our customer service department uses Stripe's online portal to process those payments. Our eCommerce sites use WooCommerce and Stripe has a really nice plug-in that helps process online payments.
  • Stripe is easy to use (Enter CC information).
  • Stripe is easy to integrate with most websites.
  • Stripe works with businesses to offer the best rates.
  • Could offer some better processing rates.
  • Most compatible updates on website modules.
  • Check up on client success.
Stripe is very suitable for small businesses. They provide you with a nice portable CC scanner when you sign-up. If you have an eCommerce store Stripe will most likely be compatible with it. Even if you have a more custom site built using Wordpress/WooCommerce Stripe has a free plug-in that's ready to use.

Stripe is used in a few different methods. It is the payment processor through our website forms integrated with Gravity Forms. We use this to process payments for tabs at events. It goes through the form and then pushes the customer to a Stripe page to make PCI compliance easier.

We also use Stripe through our Event Management Software, Tripleseat, as our payment processor. The integration with Tripleseat allows us to easily reference back to each event and makes reconciling easy.

Lastly, we use it through Shopify, as Shopify exclusively uses Stripe for its e-commerce platform.

Stripe solves several problems for us. We are able to be consistent, see everything in one place, know the customer support is great, and ultimately make it easy for our clients to checkout.
  • Subscriptions through Stripe are easy to begin, enter, and then set and forget. It helps guarantee you get your monthly payments without constantly setting reminders to process manually.
  • Invoicing directly from the website is surprisingly easy, comes with several options, and customers know Stripe and know it's safe.
  • The number of integrations that Stripe has is endless. I can always count on Stripe being an option, so their integrations and API settings are incredible.
  • It would be nice to be able to see my Shopify payments from my main payment gateway. I currently have to go to Shopify for that.
  • The ability to be able to offer discounted rates at a smaller threshold would be nice.
Stripe is amazing for anything you'll be processing from a website—E-commerce, website forms, management platforms, etc. To my knowledge, it's not best suited for a POS System, but I'm sure that's something that is integrated with other platforms so that they can offer it. Ultimately, it's well suited for most scenarios.

We use Stripe to process credit card payments from our customers. We've integrated Stripe with Salesforce to have customers provide their credit card information in order to maintain PCI compliance. If a customer needs to update their credit card details, they don't even need to contact us; they can simply login to Salesforce, make the changes, and we can process their next monthly payment seamlessly.
  • The user interface is very straightforward and easy to navigate
  • Credit card refunds are fairly painless to process
  • The customer support team is typically responsive and helpful
  • Upgrading some functionalities from manual to automatic can be time consuming
  • Can be difficult to recover forgotten passwords
  • Implementing Stripe with our new ERP has taken longer than anticipated
In our experience, Stripe is very useful if your business would like to quickly process credit card payments for invoices, especially if your customers are worried about maintaining PCI compliance. We have been using it with our current ERP for over a year and it has been very helpful, however in trying to transition Stripe to our new ERP, we have experienced some delays and complications.

Stripe is used as the payment gateway for all ecommerce purchases on our website via a WooCommerce integration. This provides our website visitors with the ability to pay for their order on our website with no redirects and no popups regardless of whether they are on a desktop or mobile device.
  • Integrated payment system
  • Easy to use reporting
  • Remembers previous visitors for fast future checkouts
  • More flexible payout options
  • Integration with banking systems
Stripe is incredibly versatile with endless scenario options to use the platform. Outside of the standard online ecommerce payment gateway, which works seamlessly, I find the direct invoicing and related subscription options to be very valuable and can provide companies of all sizes with an option to refresh their billing models and collect new forms of revenue.

I use Stripe to charge my clients for purchases that they make; some are one time purchases and others are recurring. I need a service that is convenient, reliable and easy to use. I also need a service that has low fees and is convenient for my customers to use.
  • They are reliable. I can count on everything going smoothly with transactions.
  • They are accurate. I don’t run into problems with collecting the proper amounts or being overcharged for fees.
  • They have good customer service. If I have a question about the customer portal or a problem with a customer, they help me resolve these issues.
  • I have found some things can be confusing to understand or use on the customer portal screen
I am a single owner LLC with a couple of contracted workers. That means most of my business dealings are my responsibility, but I don’t have a lot of time to deal with problems and I need things to run smoothly. I sell digital products and coaching services. I had a monthly subscription program for a year. Stripe has been well suited for me, whether I needed monthly fees collected for my membership site, payments for one time purchases, or payments split into 2-3 charges. i am glad I have Stripe working for me.

I started to use Stripe because I was fed up with how I was treated by PayPal customer service. It has been my only payment processor since then. It's easy to track recurring payments, handle refunds and even change payments on the way. They have competitive rates and the support team has always responded above my expectations.
  • Makes easy cancellation and refunds.
  • Low fees.
  • Supportive customer service
  • Wait period to deposit into bank.
  • No automatic tax support.
  • Better integration with billing softwares.
It's and outstanding alternative to PayPal. It's very easy to integrate payments with checkout platforms like Thrivecart.

It's a great payment processor if you sell online products, courses or services.

It may not be the best option if your buyers tend to make compulsive purchases, since in this case they will look for their credit card information, something that takes a little more work than simply using your email as PayPal does.

We use it as a payment gateway for a number of our customer's websites, nice and easy to install with very few problems. Easy to use for our customers and they don't need any programming or coding knowledge to use it. It saves our customers having to set up payment gateways on their websites.
  • Ease of installation.
  • Ease of use.
  • Customers don't need to set it up themselves.
  • Stripe server issues.
  • Speedier resolutions of server outages.
  • Email notification of server status.
Stripe is very easy to install and very easy to use for our customers, with very little or no coding knowledge is needed for installation. Runs very happily on most websites we create. Our biggest issue is the stripe server outages, if this was resolved or the frequency dramatically reduced I would have given a 10.

We have been using Stripe as the payment method for several of our websites for 5 years now. Stripe is very easy to use, we can very easily embed it on our websites, and the support that we have received when needed has been really good. On top of that, we love it that their app works really well, and we are always informed of what is going on with the financial transactions on our websites with no delays. I recommend everyone to use Stripe.
  • Customer Support
  • Integration with websites
  • Keep all aps informed in different devices and platforms
  • The % that they keep per transaction could be lower
  • They make you wait for a month to get your money
It is a no-brainer to use Stripe. If you have an asset online, and you need to get payments from your audience, Stripe is extremely easy to use and configure and integrate into your website. It gives you the certainty that you will be easily getting the money from the people that make a purchasing decision of your products or your services. That security that you need to offer to your clients and their transactions when they trust you with their Credit Card information, is totally guaranteed by Stripe.

I have not run into any circumstances in which I could not use Stripe or I could not recommend it. It is an industry-standard really.

[Used as] our main payment processor.
  • Process payments
  • Locked out of account without any recourse, no followup communication, no sensitivity to the issues they are causing.
Great card processing service, generally stellar customer support. They have however fallen through the floor for us.

We have been locked out of our account for close to 72 hours for "security reasons" with no recourse, update, or context as to how this can be resolved. We reached out to Stripe about an unknown login 14 days ago, they promised they would investigate what occurred during that login. We followed up three days later and they again said they would resolve it and investigate. 11 days after that original outreach, they decided that they needed to lock us out of our account due to this security concern.

They refuse to speak to us over the phone and have around $20,000 in payments sitting in the locked account. They refuse to distribute them or give us any information. Their only response has been "we will contact you soon via email or phone". For 72 hours they have been continuing to draw funds from our customers and we have no idea who they are distributing those funds to, if customer cards are valid, if we need to fulfill those orders. We have no transparency and are beyond displeased with their lack of care on this matter. Find another processor if you want 100% uptime.

We use Stripe as our primary payment processor for multiple products and services that we offer. We also offer our customers the ability to connect their Stripe accounts in order to process payments with our SaaS products. Stripe helps us provide payment solutions to our customers, and provides payment solutions for our business as well.
  • Better development resources and support than other payment processors.
  • No PCI compliance headaches, or frustrating technical workarounds required to process payments.
  • Very developer friendly, and a service that our development team enjoys working with, which is rare in the payment processing industry.
  • No automatic tax support. This is the biggest one for us. For customers that need to process complex tax situations like collection VAT or GST, Stripe allows you to create tax rates, but your software team must build out the software to support proper collection. I hope Stripe provides built-in support for taxes better in the future.
  • Processing rates are slightly higher than some more legacy payment gateway/merchant account solutions, but we believe this is worth it for the level of service Stripe provides.
  • As payment worldwide requirements are complex and differ from use case to use case, while the documentation and support is great, sometimes support is needed in order to understand the areas of the API that will be necessary for a specific use case.
If you are building a custom web, mobile, or e-commerce application, Stripe is the most flexible, easiest to implement, and feature-rich platform available today. Other payment processors have poor APIs, poor documentation, and poor support in comparison. We've worked with a number of more legacy payment gateway and merchant account setups in the past, and the hassles and hurdles slow down product development.

Stripe's support is extremely fast and knowledgeable. We can ask Stripe's live chat a complex software implementation question and have an answer from a real knowledgeable person in minutes. Getting a helpful answer at all from some other payment services we have worked with can be a challenge in comparison.

We use Stipe for our subscription activations. Stripe is used across the organization and is our main payment processor.
  • Stripe has a nice dashboard
  • Stripe has a basic easy to use navigation
  • Exporting information is easy
  • Stripe is limited when it comes to customization.
  • Stripe is tricky when it comes to integration.
Stripe get the payments done easily! When customers request payment history or the reissuing of a receipt it is simple to provide and access. Handling disputes is also made fairly simple in Stripe. The security associated with Stripe is top-notch. I'm never concerned about Stripe's authentication. Creating coupon offers is very simple and easy to implement!

Stripe is being used as our primary credit card processor. It is used to collect 80% of our revenue collection across the company. We have payments being made from all countries around the globe.

  • Dashboard is very detailed.
  • Keeps customer records of payments.
  • Stripe needs some help on collecting proper tax on purchases.
  • Dispute timelines seem to be extremely long.
Stripe is a very robust payment processing product. It is a great tool for small businesses to large businesses. The fee price point is right in line with PayPal. Reporting by customer/day/month is very intuitive. I like being able to drill down to all sorts of variations of reporting.

Today we are using Stripe for all of our product subscriptions. We are a SaaS company that has a monthly recurring subscription plan with additional add-on products. Stripe has become our source for billing all subscriptions. It is used by anyone in our organization who would need to be setting up subscriptions or products. This is typically finance, sales, onboarding, and support. It addresses the problem of an easy system that is organized when it comes to knowing who and what is being billed each month. Also, it's good at letting us know what is failing.
  • Recurring billing.
  • Subscription setup.
  • Discounts and trials.
  • It can used more detailed reports.
  • Discounts can not be itemized only subscription based.
  • Depending on users it can be a lot of info.
Stripe has just been a lifesaver when setting up billing and subscriptions, running payments, and has been a massive upgrade from the homegrown system we had built for billing prior to migration. The company itself has been great from the setup to support aspect so they've shown their worth at all stages. We've been really also really lucky to not have any issues. When things just work it's just great.

We offer a variety of online courses and products and we use Stripe to process credit card payments for those products. We have it integrating with our Drupal site, our WordPress site, and with Thinkific. It's our payment processor for B2C sales.
  • It processes payments in a secure fashion.
  • It's API integrates with all of our platforms quite well.
  • It has a nice user interface.
  • It handles subscriptions and payment plans well.
  • The reporting features could use some improvement. They don't always give clear details.
  • They recently changed their policy so if a customer asks for a refund, they only refund the amount that went to us - they no longer refund the fee, which means that we essentially lose that 3.5% fee for any refunds.
  • They also recently changed their policy so that the fee for international payments is higher than it was before, which is disappointing since we chose them based on the fact that their international fees were low.
  • It doesn't notify us or users if they are on a subscription and their payments fail due to cards expiring. It would be great if it notified us of that.
It works really well as a payment processor. However, we also have to use PayPal as well, because we found that a lot of people prefer to use PayPal because at the point of sale, they either don't feel like going and getting out their credit cards, OR they feel more secure just having their credit card information in one place (PayPal) instead of putting it in several places online. Because of this we were losing out on a lot of sales, so we now offer both credit card payments through Stripe, and Pay with PayPal options.

I use Stripe on my website. When people buy a product of my website, they can use PayPal or stripe with their credit card. It has helped create more sales in merch and helped keep me financially organized with online sales. I chose it as Square was not an option for my website sales.
  • Stripe was easy to set up and utilize on my website.
  • Stripe has helped dramatically increase my online sales. It’s a simple check out process that doesn’t discourage clients from all over the world.
  • I think it would be cool if Stripe, like Square, offered free sales credit rewards for their clients for referring people.
  • If Stripe offered Apple pay, cash app, and Venmo, that would be beneficial for more financial outlets as well!
I think that Stripe well suited for any business all or large, generating online business and wanting to increase sale outlets and profit. It’s great for websites, and suitable for invoicing as well. It’s maybe not appropriate for someone who is already using another platform to sell products. It might be keeping the business more organized to keep track of just one company to charge. Especially if that has multi employees doing transactions.

Stripe is used as our primary payment processor for credit cards and ACH/EFT payments or donations (as the back-end processor for both BidPal and Give Lively platforms we are using). It is used by our development, management, and finance departments - development to process gifts, management for reporting, and finance for reporting and reconciliation. It is a good back-end processor that offers very competitive rates to nonprofits with an easy system for getting those rates.
  • Ease of processing
  • Integration with Salesforce
  • User friendliness
  • Settings to collect data (we want to get addresses that are being collected by the cc payments anyway).
For nonprofits, their rates are unbeatable. Except for donation/payment platforms that claim to be free (they never are), Stripe's rates are the best (2.2% + $.30 for V/MC, 3.5% + $.30 for AmEx, cap of $5 fee for ACH/EFT/Bank Account). They also do offer a lot of reporting and integration options, which, if you can navigate them, are very helpful, particularly for finance and reporting. It's not as easy to set up what data is collected permanently from transactions, unfortunately, so don't count on Stripe for address collection, but for the rest, it is quite suitable for nonprofits.

As a start-up, we leverage Stripe to handle payments and invoicing. At the end of each month, we generate invoices and monitor incoming payments together with our accounting software. It is a crucial part of the business since it enables our revenue generation and is used across the whole company.
  • Ease of use.
  • User interface.
  • Pricing.
Stripe can to some good extent replace a solution that would otherwise be performed by an ERP system or its part. Since Stripe evolved as a start-up and gained its popularity in small firms, so startups will benefit from its usage. It would be less appropriate to use it in enterprises.

Stripe is used as one of our primary payment processors in our core SaaS product. It enables online and in-person payments for our customers.
  • Great documentation.
  • Well architected API.
  • Fast global expansion.
  • Payment processing costs could be more competitive.
  • Pricing is difficult to manage due to so many types of fees.
Stripe has a great API and SDKs to get up and running very quickly. It has one of the best API documentation I have ever worked with. It is in stark contrast with all the other payment processors I've worked with where the documentation is sparse and difficult to follow. You can also get started with Stripe without even creating an account, which makes the barrier to entry very simple. Compare this with other processors where you have to jump through several hoops to get a login.

Where Stripe falls apart is when you have lots of volumes, and you're using a lot of their features. Things get expensive fast since they charge for pretty much everything little thing. The fees may not be hidden, but there are so many of them that it's tough to know your upfront costs.

We use Stripe as our credit card payments processor for all card sales in our online store. In our experience, some customers did not want to use Paypal (mistakenly) thinking that they had to set up an account, so this covers those bases.
  • Reliable function. We have never had any downtime, not any errors in processing.
  • Lots of information at your fingertips. The analytics area are very useful.
  • Ability to manage payments directly from Stripe such as refunds and view exact reasons why a payment might have been declined was very useful to have.
  • Very easy integration into our e-commerce store.
  • We never fully engaged with Stripe's full offering. Amongst other things it can hold customer data for regular billing and can be developed to become an order management system but a mixture of being well provided for by our own e-commerce hosts on our part, and a lack of "interestingness" to their offer on Stripe's part, meant we didn't research this any further.
  • Dull interface: the dashboard went through a redesign a while back and we still miss the previous version for being clearer and more concise than the current
  • Payments take a week to be deposited into our bank account. This is, in our view, far too long and it is the main reason why we'll be moving away from Stripe. However, this doesn't seem to be the case for all merchants so perhaps it affects only our territory?
  • Some rooting around is needed to find reasons behind failed payments, and no notification is given that a payment has failed. This could be better communicated.
Stripe has interesting functions. It is a robust and reliable payments processor with good insights into your business performance and integrates well into an existing online store so our high grading reflects this. However, it really falls short at the length of time it takes for funds to be deposited into your business bank account, and I can't think of any situation where this long delay would be preferable to receiving funds sooner.
